Questions
First Bearing runs across grades 9–12. The earlier a student starts, the more room there is for essays, testing, and activities to be planned rather than crammed — but wherever you are, including senior fall, the free Bearing Check maps what's still possible.
No. Essays are coached from brainstorm to final draft, and the words stay the student's. Admissions readers can tell the difference, and so can the student sitting in the interview.
No. Sessions run online, so students work with Dr. Adefiyiju-Monwuba from anywhere in the U.S. or abroad — she has advised students across Rhode Island and Massachusetts and internationally in Africa and Europe. If you are in Rhode Island, there's a page for that too.
Parents are partners and stay informed through the client portal — they're welcome on the Bearing Check and can see progress without sitting in every session. The plan itself is built with the student, in their own words and interests.
